We offer a multitude of  courses regarding our YANMAR energy system technology. All courses are highly technical, yet aided by visual, hands-on demonstrations. We listen to the needs of our distributors and dealers and are continually creating the courses you need to stay up-to-date with today’s technology.

CHP CP35D1 7.5K and 15K Maintenance ILT course

2 Day Course Includes:

  • Classroom instruction
  • Catered lunch
  • YANMAR//Academy graduation certificate (upon successful completion)
  • Thumb-drive with all appropriate course documents.

Course Description: This hands-on course will provide the learner with the necessary skills to perform the 7.5K and 15k hour periodic inspection and maintenance on the CP35D Co-generation system. The CHP35D1 maintenance course takes a 90/10 approach. Which means 90% of the instruction includes HANDS-ON tasks and activities! This course includes the following.

All periodic maintenance inspections:

  • Fuel hoses
  • Coolant hoses
  • Noise/vibration
  • Loose terminals
  • Gas regulator
  • Coolant pump
  • Coolant motor valves
  • Fuel mixer condition

All periodic maintenance tasks to include:

  • Engine Coolant replacement
  • Engine Oil and filter
  • Air cleaner elements
  • Spark plug replacement
  • Engine compression test
  • Exhaust drain filter
  • Engine valve clearance check and adjustment
  • Insulation resistance measurements
  • O2 sensor replacement

CP35D1 System Course

3.0 Day Course Includes:

  • Classroom instruction
  • Catered lunch
  • YANMAR//Academy graduation certificate (upon successful completion)
  • Thumb-drive containing all appropriate course documents

Course Description: The YANMAR CP35D1 System course incorporates knowledge quizzes, hands-on training, and an end-of-course test. Training includes: Introduction to the System, Installation Requirements, Power Factor Principals, PC Checker Functions, Software Updates, Commissioning, and Maintenance.

What to Bring: Students should come with their service laptop computer and have administrative rights. This will be used for loading the YANMAR Software update tools and PC Checker programs. If a laptop is not available, one will be available at the Academy.

VRF Systems for Contractors

3.5 Day Course Includes:

  • Classroom instruction
  • Catered lunch
  • YANMAR//Academy graduation certificate (upon successful completion)
  • Thumb-drive with all appropriate course documents.

Course Description: The Variable Refrigeration Flow (VRF) System course has been developed to accommodate non-YANMAR affiliated installers. This course includes quizzes, table top exercises, hands on training and an end of course test.

  • Introduction to the VRF system
  • Installation requirements
  • PC checker functions
  • Commissioning practices

What to Bring:
Students should come with their service laptop computer and have administrative rights. This will be used for loading the YANMAR Software update tools and PC Checker programs. If a laptop is not available, one will be available at the Academy.

VRF Commissioning and Start-up Course.

Web-Based pre-requisites: VRF Introduction, ODU location Requirements, Piping Requirements, Electrical and Communication Wiring Requirements.

3 Day Course Includes:

  • Classroom instruction
  • Catered lunch
  • YANMAR//Academy graduation certificate (upon successful completion)
  • Thumb-drive with all appropriate course documents.

Course Description: The VRF Commissioning and Start-up Course is designed to provide the learner with the critical skills and knowledge needed to effectively commission the YANMAR VRF energy system. This highly interactive course includes up to 90% hands-on activities.

  • Web-based module review with test.
  • Communication wiring installation for the ODU, BS, IDU, and navigation controllers.
  • Software updates to a PC.
  • System software updates.
  • Establishing communication throughout the system.
  • Performing unique steps for charging refrigerant.
  • Completing all tasks and fields within the YANMAR commissioning report.
  • Operating the system in heating and cooling modes.
  • Using the PC Checker program to collect data and verify the correct system installation

What to Bring:
Students should come with their service laptop computer and have administrative rights. This will be used for loading the YANMAR Software update tools and PC Checker programs. If a laptop is not available, one will be available at the Academy.

Power-Up Your Technical Skill Set

The YANMAR Academy strives to continually develop and deliver the courses that are most needed by our distributors and dealerships. All Energy system courses ares structured to meet the needs and skill levels of enrolled students.

The first course focuses on Cp35D1 7.5k and 15K Maintenance . This highly interactive course provides students with the skills and techniques needed to service and maintain the CP35D Co-generation system. Students will learn all periodic maintenance inspections points and all maintenance service tasks to keep your customers units running the YANMAR way.

The second course discusses the CP35 System, including installation requirements, power factor principals, software updates and more. Through diagrams visually displayed on our classroom specific computer systems,  hands-on training lessons in our state-of-the-art Energy Systems training room, students will leave with the confidence needed to maintain Yanmar’s powerful systems.

The third Energy Systems offered is our popular VRF Systems for Contractors. In just 3.5 days non-YANMAR affiliated installer’s will gain  important insights into the VRF system. Students will be introduced to the basics of the VRF systems, PC checker functions, installation requirements and commissioning practices

Our fourth available Energy Systems Course is  VRF Commissioning and Start-up Course. Learn important insights on system software updates, using the PC checker program to collect data, wiring installation for the ODU, BS, IDU and navigation controllers, and more. This highly interactive course includes up to 90% hands-on activities.

For these courses the students are asked to bring a service laptop computer pre-loaded with administrative rights. If a laptop is unavailable to the student, then The Academy will provide a loaner laptop so that the student can complete the course.
